I believe in the fearless pursuit of knowledge to educate, inspire and accelerate the next generation of ocean scientists and explorers. I have pursued a career in science because I enjoy the application of logical thinking as a tool for exploring and satisfying my curiosity about the world around me. While sometimes frustrating, this freedom to explore the living world is what is so exciting.
My experiences travelling and photographing the world whilst conducting extraordinary research and teaching amazing students have motivated me to continue my pursuit into the research, teaching, and photography world.
The opportunity to connect with different people and cultures and to share all of my passions in concert is exhilarating, intoxicating, and irresistible.

I am obsessed with behavior, particularly in juveniles. I want to know what they are doing, who they are doing it with and why? Why do juveniles need to be juveniles for so long?
